Conn. murder suspect arrested in Schenectady
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- A man wanted for murder in Waterbury, Connecticut, was arrested in Schenectady on Thursday.
Joseph Walker, 23, of Waterbury was arrested on the 700 block of Eastern Avenue for the May 12th murder of David Caban. The 27-year-old was shot in the head while sitting in the backseat of a car that was parked in front of his home. After he was shot, police said the vehicle left the scene, and his body was found later in a roadway. He was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Waterbury police said the murder was drug related.
Walker was arrested by the Albany Division of the U.S. Marshals Service NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force. He was taken to the Schenectady Police Department for processing and will be extradited back to Connecticut to face murder charges. He is also facing drug charges in Schenectady because police said he was found with crack cocaine at the time of his arrest.
