BERKSHIRE COUNTY, Mass. -- Berkshire Community College is receiving thousands of dollars in grants. Across Massachusetts, a total of $4 million is being distributed among community colleges.
Governor Deval Patrick says the goal of the grants is to give students the training and education they need to be successful when they enter the workforce. Patrick also says the hope is to increase the connection between community colleges, employers and the employed.
BCC is being awarded $88,000. The college says the money will be used to increase college readiness and developmental math pathways and enhance student advising and civic engagement programming.
