POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The Poughkeepsie school teacher accused of stabbing another teacher with a screwdriver during school hours is now facing attempted murder and assault charges.

Ronette Ricketts has pleaded not guilty to stabbing Cynthia Glozier 16 times in the back. Ricketts’ lawyer is hoping a judge dismisses the case by reason of mental disease.

Her trial has been pushed back to October 29th.
