ALBANY, N.Y. -- Bellevue Women's Center held its annual fundraiser, Women’s Night Out, and this year's celebrity guest speaker was Giuliana Rancic.
Bellevue raises awareness at the event by spreading the word about heart and breast health for women. Rancic brings a unique perspective on the message, being a new mom and a breast cancer survivor. She says she was able to stay strong during her treatments by staying positive and surrounding herself with loving people. She says she’s been able to use her celebrity status to help other women by encouraging them to get a mammogram.
"And it was just an opportunity to reach these young women and say hey, I know normally I tell you who Kim Kardashian is dating and I tell you what Gwyneth Paltrow is wearing, but now I'm going to tell you something that could actually save your life,” Rancic said.
Annually, Women's Night Out raises more than $100,000 to support the programs and services of Bellevue Woman’s Center.
