GUILDERLAND, N.Y . -- Michael Derarakelian used text messages to prey on women.

"He had sexual contact with two females without their consent," said State Police Senior Investigator Carla Dirienzo.

But, State Police said there are likely more victims out there. They said Derarakelian used a fake name and blocked his number to call women to ask if they were interested in erotic work.

"He would attempt to lure the girls in by working as an escort or nude modeling, that type of stuff," explained Dirienzo.

One woman who met with Derarakelian told police he forced himself on her. And, an investigation revealed another woman who told police a similar story.

"We spoke to her and this has been going on for awhile," said Dirienzo.

Police said Derarakelian does not work for an escort service, and when one victim threatened to go to the police and expose his scam, "he threatened to kill her and burn her house down," noted Dirienzo. "So, we want to get the information out to the public if there are any other victims either through text messaging or phone calls, we want them to contact us."

Derarakelian is charged with criminal sex act, sex abuse and harassment.
