SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- St. Joseph's Church in Schenectady celebrates 150th anniversary on Sunday wit a concert organized by Albany Pro Musica. The church was founded by a group of German immigrants in the late 1850s.

In 1862, the church was dedicated on Center Street, and shortly thereafter, a rectory, school, convent, and cemetery were added. According to organizers, the anniversary is a milestone both for the church and for the greater community.

"They've done a great job restoring the building, it's a really beautiful space. It's great for the congregation, and it's great for artists like us, who get to perform here, so we're really happy to be here," said Matt Kopans, Albany Pro Musica Executive Director.

Sunday's program included a variety of music, from classical, to jazz, to some popular tunes.
