TROY, N.Y. -- No Team is probably happier to start a new season than the RPI hockey team. Last season was a brutal one for Seth Appert and the Engineers.
RPI went just 12-24-3 a year ago, and most of those struggles were thanks to a horrible start to the season. RPI won just three of their first 19 games last year, but closed the season going 9-9-3 down the stretch, including a post season series win over Clarkson in the ECAC playoffs.
RPI is hoping to put last season behind them and get back to the form that made them an NCAA tournament team two years ago.
The Engineers play an exhibition game at the Houston Field House on Saturday at 7:00 pm. Their first regular season game of the year is Friday, October 12th against Ferris State.
