BURNT HILLS, N.Y. -- Friends and family gather at Burnt Hills Methodist Church to remember a young boy killed while trying to stop a minivan with his siblings inside from rolling into the road.
State Police said a 12-year-old, 4-year-old, and 2-year-old were inside a Dodge Caravan on Monday when it started rolling onto Blue Barns Road from the driveway. That's when 11-year-old Lane Rowe ran behind the minivan and tried to stop it. He was knocked down and run over.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to be made to the "Lane Rowe Memorial Fund" at any branch of the Ballston Spa National Bank.
