WARREN COUNTY, N.Y. -- Researchers say they're having a hard time finding ways to get rid of spiny water fleas in Lake George.

Experts from New York and Vermont are working to keep the fleas out of Lake Champlain. They say boaters should de-contaminate their gear before getting close to the water to help keep invasive species away. They previously ruled out electric barriers and mesh screens where the La Chute River drops into Lake Champlain from the north end of Lake George.

The task force is reminding boaters to do their part to help.
