Amsterdam stabbing under investigation

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. -- Amsterdam police are investigating a stabbing on Wesleyan Avenue. It happened around 4:15 a.m. Thursday near the intersection with Chapel Place.

According to police, four people were in a vehicle when an argument broke out between two of them. The argument escalated and the two got out of the car and started to fight. The victim was stabbed multiple times. He was taken St. Mary's Hospital then transferred to Albany Medical Center for emergency surgery.

The names of the victim and the suspect have not been released. No arrests have been made yet.
