GLENS FALLS, N.Y. -- Glens Falls' mayor held a public meeting to talk about the downtown revitalization project.
The city is taking part in an urban renewal project funded by HUD. The Community Challenge grant will be used to promote and improve downtown Glens Falls as a tourist destination and an affordable place to live.
"One of the things that we need to try to do is decrease the amount of impervious surfaces downtown because the storm water runoff is really a problem, it pollutes with all the oil and grit from the streets washes in to the Hudson river or washes in the sewer system and it's a terrible situation," said Eve Holberg, Project Manager Glens Falls Downtown Development Strategy.
The city will take residents suggestions into account when they release their final development plan. That's expected later this fall.
