ALBANY, N.Y. -- The Albany Common Council is planning to meet tonight to discuss possible changes to the city government. Under this plan, a limit of two four-year terms would be established for mayor, treasurer, and city auditor. The number of Common Council members would decrease from the current number of 15 down to 12.

There's no word yet on how this would affect current Mayor Jerry Jennings who is currently in his fifth term in office and has been in office since 1993. The next mayoral race is slated for next November 2013.

Tonight's meeting takes place at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
