ALBANY, N.Y. -- One of the more competitive congressional races in Upstate New York is in the newly drawn 19th district.
Incumbent Chris Gibson is seeking reelection against Democratic challenger Julian Schreibman.
Schreibman slammed Gibson in a debate on Wednesday for voting for Paul Ryan's budget plan. In response, Gibson touted strong poll numbers Thursday night on Capital Tonight.
Rep. Gibson said, "I think the poll results show that folks in our district understand that I'm focused on local constituent issues and local issues. Storm relief, broadband, Lyme disease, and growing the economy."
The next debate between the two is scheduled for next Thursday.
