QUEENS, N.Y. -- The Kingston based national guardsman who was shot and killed by an NYPD detective will be buried Friday in Queens.

The Reverend Al Sharpton will deliver the eulogy at the funeral for Noel Polanco, 22. Polanco was unarmed when he was shot by detective Hassan Hamdy on October 4th.

Hamdy said during the traffic stop, Polanco lunged toward the floor of his car, trying to get something from underneath his seat. Hamdy then fired a shot, saying he believed his life was in danger. No gun was found.

A passenger in the car is disputing Hamdy's claims. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said a grand jury will have to determine what happened.
