Judge orders temporary closure of rafting company
NORTH CREEK, N.Y. -- A state judge has ordered the temporary closure of a Warren County whitewater rafting company.
The Hudson River Rafting company in North Creek is under investigation by the state. A lawsuit has been filed against the company, claiming it repeatedly sent rafts down the Hudson and Indian rivers without licensed guides.
This comes after a 53-year-old Ohio woman drowned last month while on a trip with the company. Investigators said the woman's guide, Rory Fay of North Creek, was drunk at the time. He's been charged with criminally negligent homicide.
The judge ordered the company to remain closed through at least next Friday, when a hearing is scheduled in Fulton County Court.
