SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- People hit the streets in Schenectady for the 7th annual Upper Union Street Harvest Festival and Art Show. Attendees enjoyed local music, artist vendors, a farmers market, and fashion show. The annual event provides a way for businesses on Upper Union Street to showcase their goods.
The festival also donates some of the day's profits to local charities. Those who attended the event said they are happy to support local organizations and community support.
"We come out every year when they have this, because we live in the neighborhood, it's a really good function for the kids to see, a lot of vendors. Usually I come for the animal function, for the animal shelters, and things like that, but to support local businesses," said Jen Charlton, a Schenectady resident.
Sondra's Fine Jewelry kicked off it's annual Toys for Tots Campaign at the festival, while other businesses donated to animal charities, and breast cancer awareness.
