Man faces 50 years to life in state prison

ALBANY, N.Y. -- An Albany man has been sentenced in Albany County Court to 50 years to life in state prison for a fatal stabbing that happened back in February 2011.

District Attorney David Soares says Jahteek Stanford, 24, was found guilty on three felony charges, including murder in the second degree, attempted murder and assault.

Officials say the man is responsible for killing Robert Smalls and paralyzing a second victim, Ahmeen Lanier.
