GREENE COUNTY, N.Y. -- Two people are dead after what deputies are calling a pill party in the Town of Athens.

The Greene County Sheriff's office tells us a man in his twenties and women in her thirties were found dead at the Starlight Motel on Route 9. Two other people were treated at Columbia Memorial Hospital and released.

Deputies say Wednesday's deaths were the first of their kind.

"In Greene County? Pill parties? Yes. Drugs? It’s becoming worse,” said Sean McCulloch of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.

No charges have been filed at this point.
