Mayor proposing renaming part of street in honor of late businessman

TROY, N.Y. -- Troy Mayor Lou Rosamilia is proposing part of Sixth Avenue be renamed in honor of late businessman Walter Uccellini.

The City Council approved a resolution to rename the portion of Sixth Avenue in front of the City Station buildings Walter Uccellini Avenue.

Uccellini, who played a central role in many Troy development projects, died in a plane crash in Vischer Ferry back in August.

The resolution must now pass a final vote at the City Council meeting on November 1st.
