ALBANY, N.Y. -- Five area districts came together Thursday night, sounding off on the effects of recent cuts in state aid.
The forum, entitled Reinvest in New York’s Public School Children, was held at Sand Creek Middle School in Albany. It was attended by Cobleskill-Richmondville, Niskayuna, Schoharie, South Colonie and Schenectady City Schools.
Organizers say the unique event demonstrates the cuts in funding have affected students everywhere, regardless of a school's suburban, rural or urban setting.
School leaders say they hope the event will cause the state to re-invest in public school children.
The forum is part of the Educate New York Now Movement, a 12 month long statewide campaign program.
