SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Legislators in Schenectady County are slated to discuss the proposed budget for 2013. A budget must be approved by the end of October.
Earlier this month, county legislators passed a law that allowed them to override the state imposed property tax cap, which is 2.95 percent.
The county manager's plan would raise taxes by almost 7.5 percent. This would be the first increase in three years. The meeting takes place at 5:30 pm at Schenectady City Hall.
