Sentencing today for convicted murderer
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- A New York City man convicted of murdering a Schenectady man more than four years ago is scheduled to be sentenced today in court. Jeremiah Hamilton was convicted in August for the shooting death of Jerrome Cannon, 20, in September 2008.
Witnesses say the two were friends and that Cannon was shot while trying to make peace after a fight that sparked from a dice game. They say Hamilton was aiming the gun for someone else when Cannon got in the way.
Hamilton faces 25 years to life in prison when he's sentenced.
