TROY, N.Y. -- Students at Hudson Valley community College are getting ready for a pumpkin launching competition.
The students of Engineering Science designed and built a catapult to send mini pumpkins flying across campus.
The students did test runs to see who could launch their pumpkins in the bucket.
HVCC student Dan Kelly said, "We have to make sure that we are using the same weight pumpkins because if we make changes and throw something different then it won't be the same. Other than that, it is relatively reliable."
The school's competition is Monday.
