GLENVILLE, N.Y. -- Funeral services for Jeff Blatnick have been announced. Blatnick died earlier this week at the age of 55. He won a gold medal in Greco-Roman wrestling at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. He and his teammate were the first Americans to ever do so.
Blatnick had battled cancer twice. He served as an Olympic commentator, and supported the growth of MMA. Blatnick was also a volunteer assistant coach with the Burnt Hills High School Wrestling Team.
Calling hours are scheduled for this Sunday from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.at Glenville Funeral
Home. The service will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church in Ballston Lake.
