SLINGERLANDS, N.Y. -- Customers can now pick up their generators from Olsen's Ace Hardware and Garden Center in Slingerlands. The store's owner said the generators came in just before 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.

Many customers were turned away on Saturday after a truck carrying about 200 generators didn't arrive as scheduled. Customers came from all over trying to get their hands on a generator before the storm. One man even drove up from New Jersey because there were no generators available in his area.

"I talked to our local folks down there at the Home Depot, and they said the only place that they know you can get one is heading up here," said Bruce Baird, New Jersey resident.

Baird said he learned his lesson from last year's run in with Irene. He said last year he didn't get around buying a new generator, but this year he said it just had to be done.
