TROY, N.Y. -- Troy Mayor Lou Rosamilia is reminding residents that the city is ready. However, he also asks that people be prepared for the oncoming storm.

In a statement, Rosamilia said, "It is critical that residents take all necessary precautions and exercise good judgment during this time. The city's emergency personnel and municipal divisions are standing by to assist residents and try to mitigate any potential damage from Hurricane Sandy."

Sandy is expected to reach the Capital Region by Monday.
