MASSACHUSETTS -- In Massachusetts, emergency officials are preparing for Sandy. Governor Patrick declared a State of Emergency on Friday.
On Sunday, Massachusetts National Guard members helped fill sand bags at the Department of Transportation facility.
The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency says they expect Sandy to bring the high wind and heavy rain across the state. The state's utilities have crews, some from out of state, are ready to restore power.
Most schools and colleges have cancelled classes and non-essential state workers have been told to stay home.
