ALBANY, N.Y. -- While many are contending with damage from Sandy, others are breathing a sigh of relief after escaping much of the devastation we saw with Irene. Many in the Capital Region heeded warnings from state and local officials that said to stay inside.

The area did not experience the widespread damage people down state did. There were a few trouble spots here because by the high winds. Some roads were closed overnight as crews cleaned up debris, downed trees, and power lines.

Other than those few problem areas, many of the people we spoke with said it looked like any other rainy night.

"We don't know the extent of everything, but it was a little kitty cat of a storm, in my eyes, in my opinion," said a local resident.

Another resident added, "The winds were very, very heavy. Sometimes I thought it was going to blow me away. But, I don't know, maybe we were on the safe side hopefully."

So far, no weather related injuries have been reported in the Capitol Region.

Tuesday will still be breezy, but nothing as heavy or severe as what we saw with Sandy.
