MASSACHUSETTS -- The debate that was set for Tuesday night between Senator Scott Brown and his challenger, Elizabeth Warren, has been cancelled.

Brown pulled out of the debate Monday afternoon, citing concern for the people affected by Sandy. The republican incumbent is facing a tough challenge in his re-election bid from Warren, a law professor at Harvard.

Recent polls showed a close race between the two candidates.
