ALBANY, N.Y. -- The man who pleaded guilty to a fatal hit and run that took the life of a 29-year-old man on Albany's Quail Street has been sentenced three to 10 years in state prison.
According to the DA’s office, last November, Alfred Zwack was driving recklessly when he hit Etemowei-James Oki, 29. Oki later died at Albany Med.
Police said Zwack kept driving and did not report the incident.
Family members of the victim were in court for the sentencing.
Zwack was sentenced to concurrent terms and will spend between two and 10 year behind bars.
Zwack pleaded guilty last month to manslaughter in the second degree and leaving the scene of a fatal hit and run without reporting it. The Oki family says they are happy to see justice was served.
