SCHOHARIE, N.Y. -- A group of young volunteers helping with flood relief in Schoharie will now turn their attention to people affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Moose Three, a national civilian community corps group, has been in Schoharie for the past seven weeks helping with flood relief. The group spends ten-and-a-half months volunteering for communities in need. This was their last trip for their year of service and they were slated to return home afterwards. But they got a call Sunday that they will be needed in New Jersey.

"We are still seeing the after effects of Irene and Lee from last year. It has been a whole year and we are still seeing the damages of the homes and the families trying to get their houses under repair. So being there and actually seeing right when it is happening, is so different. But we know the devastation it causes. So I think we will make a great difference down there," said Lina You.

The crew says they will either be helping with clean-up or shelter operations.
