HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. – A freight train derailment in Hoosick Falls has left 15 cars off the tracks.

The train heading to Massachusetts was able to stop just before an intersection near Willow Street and Railroad Avenue. Crews disconnected the cars as close to the derailment as possible so they could move the front of the train. Some of the cars they disconnected will be there for days.

The train was not carrying any hazardous material.
