ALBANY, N.Y. -- The season opener is just days away for the UAlbany men's basketball teams. The Great Danes were talking hoops on Wednesday at the team's annual Media Day.

The men are coming off a 19-15 season last year, but remember they lost a lot of scoring with the departures of Gerardo Suero and Logan Aronhalt. They still feel like they can score this season, but the focus will be on stopping the other guys.

Six times last year, UAlbany gave up at least 80 points in a game, which always resulted in a loss. Defense has been the main focus so far this preseason.

UAlbany opens the season on November 9th when they host Duquesne.

The UAlbany women are also getting ready for their season opener. The Danes are coming off a historic season.

They were the America East champs and earned a bid to the NCAA tournament. Both were firsts for the program

UAlbany went 23-10 overall and return a ton of talent from last year team. However, this team is not resting on the success of last years team. They want to make their own mark this season.

The women open the season on November 9th hosting Fordham. They play at 8:30 pm before the men's game at 6:30 pm.
