By: Web Staff

BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- New York fans will have to wait for the first interstate basketball game of the season. Thursday night's matchup between the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets has been postponed.

According to a letter sent from the Brooklyn Nets' CEO, Brett Yormark, Mayor Michael Bloomberg requested that the game be rescheduled. Mayor Bloomberg felt it was in the best interest of the fans to postpone the game citing the aftermath of this weeks storm.

No make up date has been announced at this time. The next scheduled matchup between these two teams is on December 11th in Brooklyn.

The Nets next game is on Saturday at home against Toronto. Meanwhile, the Knicks are scheduled to play at Madison Square Garden on Friday against the reigning champion Miami Heat.
