Two injured when car hits pedestrians

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Two people were injured after a car ran into a group of people on the side of the road in the Town of Poughkeepsie.

Police say it happened around 9 p.m. Thursday when Jordan Lamoree, 22, was driving southbound on Creek Road near the intersection of Fitchett Way and the Dutchess County Rail Trail entrance. They say three people were walking on the west side of the roadway. They say Lamoree looked away from the road and struck one of those people.

Police say the victim suffered broken bones and bruised internal organs, but they are non-life threatening injuries.

Another pedestrian also complained of injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Police ask any witnesses to call the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department at 485-3666.
