Sandy causing changes in voting venues

By: Web Staff

HUDSON VALLEY, N.Y. -- Hurricane Sandy is affecting where folks in the Hudson Valley can vote.

Already, Orange and Sullivan counties have changed the locations of some polling places.

For Orange County, those who vote at the Pine Tree Elementary School in Monroe will now vote at the Monroe Senior Center on Mine Road. Voters at The Sanfordville Elementary School in the Town of Warwick will vote at Warwick Middle School on West Street.

The Board of Elections says these changes are permanent for Tuesday, even if the electricity comes back on.

Over in Sullivan County, if you vote at the Forestburgh Town Hall on King Road, you'll be moved over to the Forestburgh Fire House on State Route 42. Folks who vote at the Willowemoc Baptist Church in Livingston Manor will vote at Neversink Firehouse on State Route 55 in Neversink.
