Man sentenced for role in two crashes

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- A Saratoga Springs man will spend the next five years in prison after pleading guilty to several charges related to two separate crashes.

Back in September, Aurelio Bidinost was a passenger in a car driven by his estranged wife when he reached over and turned the steering wheel, sending the car into the path of a Saratoga Springs police officer. The crash damaged both cars.

Bidinost pled guilty to attempted reckless endangerment in that case. He had previously admitted to his role in a crash on Christmas Eve of last year, in which he crashed a car he was driving on Route 50, flipping it onto another vehicle and severely injuring the woman inside. He was charged with vehicular assault and assault in that case.
