HUDSON VALLEY -- U.S. Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand have sent a letter to FEMA, urging them to amend the major disaster declaration to include Orange and Putnam counties. This is following severe storm damage caused by Sandy.
Their letter says hundreds of roads have been closed due to downed trees and power lines, and thousands of residents are still without power. The Senators say FEMA needs to provide individual and public assistance for the two counties.
