VALATIE, N.Y. -- In honor of Veterans Day, Congressman Chris Gibson and dozens of others come together to run the annual Veterans Day 5K. Runners said the event gives them a chance, and also teach younger generations about sacrifice.

Gibson is a veteran himself, and was deployed seven times. Four of those were combat tours in Iraq, and according to the Congressman, the run is a tradition he wouldn't miss.

"I always look forward to this event, it's a great opportunity for the community to come together, to have a physical fitness event, and also reflect on the sacrifices of our veterans,"said Gibson.

Gibson, who won reelection on Tuesday, represents the newly drawn 19th Congressional District.
