RENSSELAER COUNTY, N.Y. -- An East Greenbush man has been arrested after police say he stole money meant to fund school sports teams.

Helping raise money for the East Greenbush Sports Booster Club, authorities say Daniel Hansen accepted a check for over $3,900 intended for the sports teams. Police say he then altered the check so he could put it in his own account.

Hansen, who's listed as the assistant football coach on the district website, is facing felony forgery charges. He was arraigned in Schodack Court and is scheduled to reappear on November 29th.
