SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- The Saratoga County District Attorney says he's met with the city's police chief about a potential criminal case against three city police officers after claims they were involved in an assault.

District Attorney James Murphy says he met with Police Chief Christopher Cole Monday.

Cole and Public Safety Commissioner Christian Mathiesen confirm a man claims he was injured November 12th in a scuffle with as many as three off duty officers outside Dango Fitzgerald's Bar on Caroline Street. The Police Chief says two separate investigations, personnel and criminal, are being conducted.

No charges have been filed right now, but the DA also confirms he met with the victim. He did not sustain "serious physical injury," which is a legal requirement for charging the assault as a felony. However, he was physically hurt during the fight.

All three officers have been suspended without pay and could face other internal consequences.
