HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- A mother is dead following a rollover crash in Hoosick Falls. State It happened on Johnson Hill Road around 1:15 p.m. Monday.

State Police say Joede Wilbur, 26, of Greenwich, was traveling east in her Ford Ranger pickup truck with her children, ages 5 and 7. The truck veered off the road and rolled twice in a field.

Wilbur was pronounced dead at the scene. The two children were taken to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, but only as a precaution.

Neighbors by the scene say that road can be dangerous to drivers.

"Once they get on the back roads, the driver don't realize how bad the roads, how hilly they are, which is terrible. As well as they've got a lot of corners and dips, but there's always run off. So you have a lot of runoff areas which the town and the county have tried to deal with. But when you've got the storms that we've had, then you have more erosion, more problems with the sides of the roads and it's hard for them to keep it up," Hoosick Falls resident Kathy Pelkey said.

Police say everyone was wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.

There is no word yet on the cause of the crash.
