Two arrested on drug charges, child place in protective services

POTTERSVILLE, N.Y. -- A Pottersville child was placed in protective services when Warren County Sheriff’s deputies discovered marijuana growing in the child's home.

Gary Welch Jr., 33, and Kimberli Jackson, 28, were arrested at a home on Agard Road late Wednesday afternoon. Deputies say they were tipped off that the pair was growing marijuana in the home.

Officials seized several marijuana plants at various stages of growth, along with dried and processed pot, and equipment used to grow and cultivate the plants.

Child Protective Services placed the child living in the home in the care of a relative.

Welch and Jackson face several drug charges as well as endangering the welfare of a child.
