SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- High school football fans set their sights on season championships in Syracuse this weekend. Several area teams have made it to the Carrier Dome.
First up we have the Burnt Hills Spartans. This is the fourth time in the last five years the Spartans are playing in the Class A state championship game. They'll face Sweet Home out of Buffalo. Burnt Hills lost to Sweet Home in 2008 and 2009 in the state championship game.
This year, the Spartans approach the title game on an 11 game win streak. The school has never won the state title and they're hoping to change that this year. Kick off for that game is Friday at 3 p.m.
Glens Falls prepares to face Maine Endwell in the Class B State championship game. Again the Indians are in an underdog situation as they face last year's Class A state champions. The Maine-Endwell offense has been impressive this year scoring at least 40 points in all but one game. Kick off for that game is set for Saturday at 3 p.m.
Hoosick Falls is getting set to take on the top ranked team in Class C, Hornell. The Red Raiders are on a 51 game win streak. In order to prepare for the Carrier Dome, the Panthers have taken practice indoors to the Strong Brothers Sports Dome in Hoosick Falls.
The Panthers haven't played in Syracuse since 2003. That game starts Saturday at noon.
Don't forget you can catch all the playoff action on Time Warner Sports Channels 50 and 1803.
