ALBANY, N.Y. -- Now that four out of the five counties have been tallied, there could be a winner in the 46th State Senate District race as early as next week.
The contest between democrat Cecilia Tkaczyk and republican George Amedore has been extremely close. Amedore's spokesperson says with Montgomery County wrapping up counting early Saturday morning, he now leads Tkacyk by 920 votes.
Spokesman Kris Thompson says Ulster County will begin counting Monday morning. Ulster is the last county to go through the process.
Any contested ballots will be set aside and both sides could head to court November 28th.
