Two arrested, three injured after car crash

ULSTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A man and woman are arrested after a crash that sent three people to the hospital.

Ulster County Sheriff's deputies responded to a crash Wednesday evening in Kerhonkson. They say a Toyota Tacoma driven by Sherri Murden, 44, hit another vehicle driven by Brian Langseder.

Deputies say Murden's truck then went over a guardrail, hit a telephone pole and eventually caught fire.

Langseder, Merden and her passenger, Shawn Yerkes, were taken to Ellenville Regional Hospital where Murden and Yerkes allegedly started to fight with staff. Officials say one deputy and an EMT were struck multiple times.

Yerkes and Murden now both face assault and obstructing governmental administration charges.

Murden also faces several additional charges, including driving while intoxicated, criminal possession of a controlled substance and refusal to submit to a blood test.
