Officials from the Wappinger School District contacted State Police after reviewing surveillance video from the bus on an unrelated matter and observed what was described as highly inappropriate physical contact by Charles Kane III, 57, with a special needs student.

Kane was located at his home in Hopewell Junction and brought in for questioning. He was arrested for second-degree criminal sexual act. He was arraigned and sent to the Dutchess County Jail.
