CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. -- It's now to honor our kid of the week. This week, we salute 11-year-old Hailey Bub of Mechanicville.

After she saw how badly people were affected by Hurricane Sandy, Hailey came up with the idea to collect and donate ‘Prayer Bears’ for the children that have been left devastated and homeless. She's organizing a bear drive that she named ‘Operation Prayer Bear.’

Her church, Grace Episcopal Church in Waterford, will fill the bears she collects with prayers of love and comfort. From there, the bears are heading to children in New York City throughout the holidays.
