HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- "The poor girl was murdered and it’s tough for everybody," said Laurie Ferguson's uncle, George Lakestream.

A memorial service for a 67-year-old woman found stabbed to death in the bedroom of her Hyde Park home. Laurie Ferguson was discovered Thanksgiving night. All the while, family members waited for her to join them for dinner.

"She not showing up to somewhere she was supposed to be is what triggered them to go look for her and find her and everything," said family member Deborah Lucas.

Police say Ferguson was stabbed multiple times. She leaves behind two children and six grandkids.

"It’s just a tragic thing, disrupts so many families," said Lakestream.

Family members say the hard part about attending the service is that there is absolutely no resolution. They don't know who killed their loved one or why someone would take her life.

"We’re still pressing forward with as much manpower as possible," said New York State Police Lt. James Murphy.

There have been no arrests. The weapon was never found, even though there's been a number of searches.

"We’re constantly running down leads trying to develop more and more information about the last few hours of the victim’s life," said Murphy.

Although married, she lived alone.

Crime Stoppers is now involved in the case and offering a $2,500 reward to anyone with information that'll lead to an arrest and simultaneously offer closure to a family left with questions.

"Laurie was just an incredible person. Very kind, very sweet, giving and I’ve known her for probably 20 years and it’s just sad," said Lucas.
