NEW YORK STATE -- Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced a lease agreement made between the CSX Corporation and Amtrak.

Amtrak will now have full control of the Hudson Line between Schenectady and Poughkeepsie. This move will reduce congestion and improve passenger service. It will also allow for improvement projects to reduce congestion across the state, improve travel times and reliability for passenger and freight trains.

Those improvement projects are expected to cost $181 million.
